This week's app of the week is one of our own, in the sense that we created it for personal use. Last weekend we had our yearly Oxyma Company Incentive. And we were asked to build an event application for the occasion: Vestrock Festival in Hulst. In the process of creating an app, it's a great starting point to consider our colleagues as the actual users of the app. With almost 200 people we spent 2 days of fun and festivity with our fellow colleagues from Oxyma and Oogst. An absolute key feature of the app is the photo stream functionality. With just one click you can upload your selfies and your impressions of the event. The result: 587 photos were uploaded in the stream during the festival, making it possible to grasp a summary of the weekend's highlights. The photos in the app can be saved on your phone and shared on your social channels. This festival app contains a schedule per day and an activity board, which links to the timetable of the festival, the tent grouping and other information. Not that Hulst is such a large town, but the app also includes some redirects to navigate you to the main sights and highlights.
Even though this app was intended to be used by a small group of users, 165 people downloaded and used it, which accounted for 3093 sessions on iOS and 834 sessions on Android over the weekend. We'd like to thank our colleagues from Oxyma and Oogst for using our app!
If you have an event and you want to have an app for it... Let's see what we can do for you.
